Use of own domain on your sign-up website
We can now offer that you can replace the somewhat special Conference Manager™ URL with your own domain:

”One event”
You already own a domain name - eg. webcongress.com - which you would like to use for your one event. You send Conference Manager™ a message about your domain, pointing your domain to an IP address, you will be supplied with by Conference Manager™. You can also use a sub-domain, for example. www.webcongress.com, event.webcongress.com or webcongress.microsoft.com.
Common for the "one event" solution is that you choose one domain or subdomain and point it to the Conference Managers™ IP address, and for as long as this event is actige, you can only use it for that one event.
”All events”
You already own a domain name - eg. webcongress.com - which you would like to use for several events taking place continuously. You send Conference Manager™ a message to let us know, and point your domain to an IP address, you are supplied with by Conference Manager™. You can also use a sub-domain, for example. www.webcongress.com.
Common to these "all events" solutions is the fact that you can use the domain to all the events you create in your Conference Manager™ Admin. In order to distinguish events from each other, an unique event name willl be added to the subordinated domain name - eg. webcongress.com/2011 or webcongress.com/cph. The possibilities are many - the only restriction is that you can only use each event name once.
The technique
There is a technical matter involved in such domain names. Therefore, we will take care of that - all you need to do is just to let us know which of the two models you want to use.
If you already own the domain, then your IT-technician need to make a so-called pointing to an a-record on the IP address you get from Conference Manager™.
If you do not already own the domain, then the Conference Manager™ can help you set it all up. When you find out which domain name you want, we can order it in your name and create all the technical stuff. For this service we will charge € 85. This way are are sure you don't need to involve others.
Security
All entries in Conference Manager are running under an so-called SSL certificate. This means that there must be issued a special certificate for your subscription website as well. Only that way, we can ensure data security. Certificates are issued in your name and are associated with your domain name.
Therefore, it is also only the owner of the domain who may approve the issuance of SSL certificates. This occurs when the issuer sends an email to the registered owner of the domain name in which the owner must approve the issuance of SSL certificates. Ssl-certificates have a duration of one year from issuance. The cost of the certificate is included in the price.
